Prayer For Refugees

Almighty and merciful God,

whose Son became a refugee and had no place to call his own;

look with mercy on those who today are fleeing from danger,

homeless and hungry.

Bless those who work to bring them relief;

inspire generosity and compassion in all our hearts;

and guide the nations of the world

towards that day when all will rejoice in your Kingdom

of justice and of peace;

through Christ our Lord.

Amen

Blessing for Global Celebration of Young People

World Peace Prayer for Disarmament

Good and gracious God,

we ask your blessing upon the young people of the world

and for all youth and young adults everywhere.

Bless and keep them,

so that they may be reassured that they are infinitely loved.

Give them newfound hope,

so that they may know your presence at every moment.

Strengthen them for their journeys.

May they grow in wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.

Bless their endeavors and actions,

that they may be a blessing to their peers, community, and Church.

Accompany us, Lord, young and old,

as we accompany one another on this journey together.

Help all of us, also, to accompany these young men and women,

through the joys, struggles, and experiences of their everyday lives,

and grant us the humility to learn from and be inspired by the young.

We ask this blessing through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,

who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,

God, for ever and ever.

Amen

Lead us from death to life, from falsehood to truth.

Lead us from despair to hope, from fear to trust.

Lead us from hate to love, from war to peace.

Let peace fill our hearts, our world, our universe.
